CEA Call for Proposal (on-going)
The Mekong Economic Research Network (MERN) provides grant for small research which heavily target young researchers from designated institutions that participate in the network by request.
+ Team doing small research: there is no fixed number of members involving a team doing small research, but ideal number would be two- or three-person teams of young researchers.
+ Research scope: small research team will work on relatively simple tasks aiming to build capacity in basic research skills.
+ relevance to the MERN’s big themes: labour market, social protection, competition policy and informal sector.
+ Age of research team: small research is designed for capacity building for young researchers.
+ Potential capacity building impact
+ Gender consideration: It is expected that at least 40% of researchers in the whole MERN network are female, 30% of research papers and 30% of policy papers contain gender dimensions
CEA will provide 5 (five) small research grants. Each grant is CAD 2,100.

After two competitive rounds of funding in Phase I and II, IZA and DFID are looking forward to receiving many high-quality research proposals again in this final call. It is expected that 10 to 12 projects will be selected for funding.
